IMSTA Songwriting Competition at NAMM

Announcing the IMSTA Songwriting Competition at NAMM (ISCAN) that gives aspiring songwriters currently enrolled in college or university music programs the opportunity to have their original music heard by industry professionals, to receive their feedback, and to possibly win a trip to Black Rock Studios in Santorini, Greece! 

How to Enter: Online: Deadline Extended to Jan. 13!

Step 1: Songwriters submit their original song to the IMSTA website by Jan. 13, 2020. 

Step 2: Register to attend The 2020 NAMM Show as a GenNext attendee. 

Step 3: If your song is selected to be in the top three you will be invited to ISCAN Finals, which takes place at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA on Jan. 18, 2020. 

Step 4: Registered GenNext NAMM Show attendees are invited to submit songs as walk-ins to be reviewed by judges one-on-one at The NAMM Show.  During a one-on-one review, your song may win a Wild Card. A Wild Card is given for an extraordinary song. 

Step 5: Wild Card songs are added to the top three pre-submitted songs and all songs compete for First Place on-site at The NAMM Show.

Step 6: A First Place Winner and Runner-up are acknowledged on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the TEC Awards. Winners must be present at The NAMM Show to receive the award package and to be in the running for a chance to win a trip to Black Rock Studios in Santorini Greece. 

How to Enter: On-site at The NAMM Show

Step 1. Register to attend The 2020 NAMM Show as a GenNext attendee. 

Step 2. Bring your prerecorded song on a device such as a cellphone, tablet, or laptop to the Anaheim Hilton, Level 4, Room C13 on Saturday, Jan. 18 between 12 and 3 pm.

Step 3. Walk-ins to be reviewed by judges one-on-one at The NAMM Show.  During a one-on-one review, your song may win a Wild Card. A Wild Card is given for an extraordinary song.

Khaliq Glover

Khaliq Glover (also known as Khaliq-O-Vision) is a Grammy Award Winning Engineer/Producer/Author whose clients include Prince, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Diana Ross, Angie Stone, Herbie Hancock, Christina Aguilera, Marcus Miller, Jeffrey Osborne, Jamie Foxx, Patti LaBelle, Shanice, and many more. Khaliq started out by working for Country Music star Kenny Rogers at his Lion Share Studios in 1982 and also worked as an engineer for Prince at Paisley Park Studios for several years from 2004-2007 and also worked on the album Musicology. He is also one of the mixing and recording engineers on the Michael Jackson project “This Is It” and the album called "Michael" with Teddy Riley. Richard Harris

Richard is a #1 Billboard songwriter, producer, artist and mentor. Transplanted from the UK over a decade ago to LA, Richard quickly signed a staff writer publishing deal with Peer Music landing multiple major label song cuts all around the world. With several #1's, top ten singles and platinum records he continues to have hits including a recent #1 Billboard dance single.
